Set up the built-in camera
Start with the built-in camera to verify capture, then use an external camera if needed. Home background preview and session capture have separate settings.

Before you begin
Android steps
- 1Open Settings → Camera. Choose an available built-in/front/rear camera source.
- 2Inspect the preview and set orientation and mirroring as needed. Check framing with the intended frame.
- 3Return to Overview and start a demo session. Capture a photo and check sharpness and orientation in Result.
- 4If using filters or beauty, test with those settings enabled. Preview alone does not prove the saved result is correct.
iPhone and iPad steps
- 1Open Settings → Camera and choose the built-in camera. Allow camera access when iOS/iPadOS requests it.
- 2Choose an available lens/side, then inspect orientation, mirroring and framing in the preview.
- 3Start the booth from Overview and complete a capture. Inspect the still image in Result before testing Live Photo.
- 4If Home uses a camera background, configure it separately in the Home editor. Test the transition from Home to capture and back.
Check the result
Operator check
The preview moves, capture completes, the photo has the correct orientation and another session can start.
If something goes wrong
| Symptom | Next step |
|---|---|
| Black preview | Check camera permission and the selected source. Close other camera apps, then reopen the camera source. |
| Preview looks good but the result is blurred | Check focus, subject movement, lighting and the full-resolution capture. |
